I have a very small head so the reviews of this cap being too small didn't bother me but I found it too tight even for me. If it were softer I would give 5 stars. It is beautifully made and the design makes it easy to wash your face unlike other caps I have purchased which have ruffled edges. I have migraines and was only able to wear this hat for about a minute. Unfortunately if you have a headache or have a medium to large head I would avoid this cap. It shouldn't be sent back so I'll keep it and try to stretch it but I need to find another one to wear in the shower to protect my hair because I can't stand the tightness of this cap long enough to shower. To give you an idea of my head size, I have to wear kid sized baseball caps as women's and especially men's sizes are too big. I bought a pattern with black dots; another pattern may be larger if sewn by another manufacturer.
