I have recently taken my car to high performance driving clubs. The first two times I drove my car (to Pocono Raceway) the weather conditions were completely different. The first time the weather started out cool in the morning but warmed up quickly towards midday. This made my hands sweat profusely. When I went the second time it rained the first half of the day. Also, it was pretty cold. Cold fingers when driving over 210 km/h are not exactly "fun". At first I wasn't sure whether to go for single or double layer gloves. Not knowing exactly how they would differ, I went ahead and bought single layer gloves. They completely solve the problem of cold and sweat I had the first few times I went outside. They're thick enough to keep hands warm, but don't feel too thick to stay warm. I believe it's the Nomex material that lets them breathe and prevents profuse sweating. The leather palm provides excellent grip on the steering wheel. My car has a typical leather steering wheel, but nothing special. For those who race at the track on the weekends or several times a year I would highly recommend these gloves. This is just one thing to worry about when driving at high speed. This allowed me to focus more on the technique and feel more comfortable.
