Bought for my emergency bag. The solar panel is only for battery maintenance, not for charging. There is a micro USB port for charging and a USB output for charging your phone or other devices. The 30 second crank generates enough power to run the radio for about 20 minutes for reference. The light is quite bright. The speakers are clean but crackle a little at higher volumes. This unit does NOT have an AA battery connection for backup power like the previous model. The antenna is quite large compared to the size of the radio. Overall I'm very happy with it. It will be a great addition in case of an emergency or power outage. I would buy it again despite my 4 star rating. I wish it still had an AA battery backup.
