Review on πŸ”‹ Solar Controller for Battery Tender - 5-45W Automatic by Paul Beach

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I have one less hooked up in my house...

The Tender battery has a long and reliable history of quality. They're a little more expensive than other brands, but when it comes to whether I'm buying the product that has mixed reviews or this product that I believe in and when it comes to fighting, I spend a few bucks more. This is the first Battery Tender product I have ever purchased, although I have recommended this company many times over the years. I have a trailer with brakes on board. Therefore, a battery is required. I didn't want to constantly take the battery out, put it on the charger, then take it off the charger and put it back in the battery compartment. Actions like this lead to mistakes like dropping the battery or something and then leaving the trailer unusable. I drilled some drain holes up to 1/4" and soldered some wires to the battery terminal, with terminals on the other end. I used stainless steel hex head screws to clamp these terminals. With a pair of stainless steel wing nuts I can now make one Testing, charging (with a wall charger or a solar charger) and plugging in TPMS booster/extenders in seconds without worrying about a broken tip, connector, battery dropping, or other potential problems It seems like two weeks working fine after installation. The battery voltage dropped from 13.06V to 13.28V after installing a Battery Tender solar controller with a connected 7W PV panel and a small LED display, changed within a few hours from yellow to green It would be nice if the yellow or green LEDs lit up were a different color, for example red, to better identify whether the battery is charged or not st, since the LEDs are yellow or green, since both colors are very similar in color. Hard to tell the difference in the sun, but as long as the controller works and lasts for many years, I agree. I bought it because it needs to be waterproof and I just want to leave it installed. when the trailer is not in use. The time will show.
