This works better than I expected and is exactly the quality I've come to expect from Battery Tender. I use this paired with a 50w solar panel to charge batteries in my boat. It says the solar panel max output is 45w but what they really mean is the max amperage is 3 which is listed on the back of the controller. I've had one for a few years and the others are newer so I guess I haven't used them long enough to know whether or not they damage the batteries, but they keep the batteries fully charged and I haven't seen any signs of overcharging still.
