clap, throw away.

I was a bit worried about ordering these as some of the reviews were a bit negative. I figured we could give them a try for a modest price. When they arrived I ran a series of experiments on them to see how well they would hold up. Initial tests were pretty positive: stick the phone on the patch, stick the patch on the wall. The real challenge was that we took one to Dallas, Texas and used it in the hot Texan sun to mount my phone to the dash of a rental car, so I use GPS to navigate Dallas. Worked very well, especially when it was warm. We found that keeping the plastic caps for transport really helped keep it running as you probably don't want to keep it in the car in the bright sun. The instructions say they are good up to 80 degrees but my wife preferred to carry them in her purse. I don't know how it will work at very low temperatures because I haven't tried it. But anywhere the temperature is close to room temperature and above, it works perfectly.
