I used this case for about a month for my 5th gen iPod Nano which is the same size as the 4th generation nano has. The iPod slides when the open end is down, so I try to keep it upright. I only use it to protect my iPod when I have it in my bag and it's great for that because it's not bulky. I placed the iPod on the bottom to protect the dock connector and headphone jack. I like to check the time (in the header) while keeping the iPod up my sleeve while I flip the lock switch. The inside feels like very soft leather while the outside feels like rough felt, which keeps it in place in your bag or on your desk.
