All I really needed was a plastic C clip
I unplugged the cruise control and as I removed the plastic C clip I watched in horror as it flew into the void of the engine bay. I was able to piece together a temporary fix, but I knew I had to replace that clip. Since no one is selling this clip separately (as I understand it) for $9, it was a small price to pay. Revine stated that the device as a whole does not fit my Tahoe. I haven't really checked if that's true or not as all I need is a plastic clip. The clip worked great replacing the lost one.
