Review on Reusable Stainless Steel Travel Utensils Set - Portable Cutlery Kit with Case, 8pcs Including Dinner Knife, Fork, Spoon, Chopsticks, and Straws (Silver) by Michael Schafer

Good cutlery, but the carrying case literally stinks.

The cutlery does the job, no complaints about the size of the bowl or its durability and although I don't use straws or chopsticks I do use a straw brush to clean my thermos straw. No thrills, everything works as it should and I haven't noticed any rust or wear. The big issue is the tote bag, it's good for what it is and everything fits in easily, but there is one unforeseen issue that I never expected. After some time it starts to smell, at first the smell is insignificant, but after a while it borders on nausea. I think the culprit is the silvery plastic lining inside the case that absorbs odors, even after cleaning the inside and hand washing the entire case, the smell doesn't go away. I know this sounds trivial to some, but the reason I bought the set was because it was inexpensive and came with a carrying case. Having to throw away the case defeats the whole purpose of the set, otherwise I would have just used my homemade cutlery, but I figured a separate set that I can easily toss in my bag would be a better choice. Looks like I got it wrong.

Pros
  • Environmentally friendly and easy to care for. Say no to disposable or disposable plastic tableware! It's an eco-friendly way to use this reusable chopstick travel utensil. The waterproof inner lining of the travel cutlery sets is made of easy-to-clean aluminum foil.
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
