Review on BBQ Hack Al Pastor by Tory Richardson

Rotisserie + 1 extra tool = delicious meat

I purchased a BBQ Hack Rotisserie to make tacos al pastor on my horizontal smoker for the first time. to my advantage. Without changing the cooking zone, I could use the shortest length and still close the lid, but I would have to cook the meat in batches. The longest skewer didn't fit me at all, but the medium skewer was perfect once I shortened the grill plates and removed the heating grid attached to the lid. I wanted to recreate the cooking conditions in a vertical skewer, so I removed the two center grill plates and placed an inverted stainless steel grill basket on the bottom of the grill and tilted the plate behind it to accommodate some coals and a stick of smoldering mesquite. Then I stacked the coals on either side of the basket and placed the skewer in the middle. You can see in the picture that there was some inevitable flare-up from fat drain, but the skewer hack handled the heat pretty well. It deformed a bit during cooking, but this tendency helped the juice flow out. Raised grip edges make it easier to turn the pliers. After my meat was perfectly browned, I popped it in the oven to finish and it came out perfectly. I'm also considering using it indoors with a skillet in the oven. Cleaning was easy with oven cleaner. It was a lot of fun using this accessory. We haven't even made tacos al pastor yet, and I'm already planning to make my next dinner out of it. I highly recommend it.
