I guess these are fine, I don't wear them but I did purchase them for my newly adult decision making 13 year old. She was aglow with excitement as she tried on the various styles. I smiled and waved and told her she looked beautiful (she does). She wakes up early for school the next day, spends enough time in the bathroom for me to reupholster all the furniture. After I yell out that I am sending them back, she settles on wearing all of them. She walks into middle school flexing in front of her friends who are not allowed to pierce their septums, mouths agape, the intakes of breath, the swelling of her jingling head as she turns every way to catch the light just right. The booming voice of vice principal Hammer-Drop, the humiliating walk to the office, the even more humiliating admission that they are "faux." Out of dress code. No real harm, props for trying. The real lesson was learned when she wore them around the house. They started irritating her nostrils and we had to make a quick trip to doctor to make sure no infection. Nothing wrong with the product just her fiddling with it too much. Eww. It was totally worth it to me, she had no damage physically or psychologically. She was able to make a mistake, own it, learn from it and I got hugs.Side note, they did seem to be a pretty good quality purchase for the money and she said they held up well and didn't slip around. So if you don't have Mr Hammer-Drop as your AP, go for it.
