I got this for my 2015 Pathfinder so I can stream music. I can only hear external stuff when I connect my phone with RCA cables. I have a new Samsung and it doesn't have a 3.5mm jack (I didn't know that when I bought it) so I needed another way to connect it. I hadn't even thought of this, the dealer told me to look for an external device as I wanted to replace the entire radio to get streaming capability (I didn't find it that expensive). It was an easy connection, the sound is good so far. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because the picture shows it comes with RCA cables and it doesn't, I bought it separately, it was only $6 but I didn't get everything, what was in a photo.
