Had to lay it flat on the floor so mine.
I had to put it on the floor so my cat wouldn't scratch it. I leaned it against the wall when I first got it. The cat tried to scratch him, but he slipped and startled him. He can't get to him until I put him on the floor. Also a shame because my friend is a vertical scratcher and ruined the edges of all our chairs!
