Review on Experience The Ultimate Comfort And Stability With ALEADER Women'S Barefoot Trail Running Shoes by Lauren Campbell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Experienced barefoot shoe trail runner here and these are the BEST budget barefoot trail shoes

For those of you who are already accustomed to barefoot shoes and looking to save money, give these a try. I've had Merrell gloves that are awesome but expect them to tear up in about a year. I personally dislike Vibrams because I don't like the feeling of so much material between my toes, but if you don't mind that then sure stick with Vibrams. As for vivobarefoot, I honestly don't see the huge benefits for their price, and I had my pair for two years. Fair warning though, I only use closed toe trail runners for rain and I'm in Southern California. All other times, I use my Earthrunner sandals for trails and Xero sandals for road. So I only put about 200 miles a year on my closed toe trail runners. All that being said, I tried 3 budget brands from revain: Whitin, Joomra, and Aleader. Aleader is the winner, though probably from personal preference (the other brands have their pluses as well, just have to find which one works for you). These are zero drop and thin enough - I can still feel rocks and roots but definitely not as thin as the more expensive brands. If you think the insert is too cushiony or thick, what I did was buy a cheap pair of flat inserts and put them in there instead. The upper mesh is indeed breathable, and the rubber toe guard isn't as stiff as Joomra's budget trail runners. I love these shoes and am so glad I found a budget barefoot trail runner that works for me, just keep in mind these are not my primary trail runners.

Pros
  • Designed to cater to the unique needs of barefoot runners
Cons
  • May not be suitable for runners with high arches
