Surprisingly Rewarding Educational Toy

I have to tell you I didn't buy this toy for fun, I bought it to help my son develop his fine motor skills. It doesn't look very interesting to me, so I planned to take us where we need to go and make a donation. But definitely not because that will happen in the near future (and we've had it for over a year) because our son loves this business. Actually kind of obsessed with it. And watching him assemble it gave me an idea of what his thinking is like (he doesn't speak, so sometimes I have to analyze what he's doing to understand how his brain works). I had to work with him a bit. before he could independently determine which piece landed on each set of pins (that's the nature of his duties, no problem with the toy itself) and some effort on his part to set them unaided, but he managed to do so within a long time. and now, and he will play with this toy for more than 45 minutes if i let him. Sometimes he even lays out and sorts the pieces, aligns them by color, attaches them in a specific color order, and sometimes manipulates the pieces while they're on the table to make them fit together better. So we got a lot more out of this toy than we expected and it holds up well to its love of chewing too, so it's certainly a worthy educational toy.
