I was attracted to this device for its Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 compatibility and solid metal construction. In fact, the presence of a metal case is not necessary for the functionality of the charger, since the electronics fail much earlier than the plastic case. However, it does add weight to the device, which makes it feel good. Also practical is the small size, which rises above the cigarette lighter, makes it unobtrusive. In my car, I can even close the door behind the outlet while the device is still plugged in. Since it's the only thing I've ever plugged into an outlet, it's great that I don't have to unplug it. I can confirm that it fast charges my LG V40 with no issues when I use a fast charge compatible cable. I'm always hesitant to buy a generic name brand electronics product as I've definitely had bad luck with them over the years. However, for the time being I can recommend this one unreservedly. The question will be if the electronics will stand the test of time, but for the price and performance I'll be happy if it lasts at least until the day I inevitably lose it.
