I was looking for a device that could record TV and other video sources. I found it pretty quickly! He does what he says. He's recording TV and it's looking pretty good! I'm having some issues with other things like artifacts in videos I've created on my computer and then transferred to the device. There is one major drawback that I discovered this morning while recording a video concert on VHS with this device. When playing a concert on the device, there are small glitches here and there throughout the concert. The device is not pretty to look at. I wanted to find out if the device or the video was causing the hiccups. After I transferred the video to my computer and then played it using Windows Media Player, there was NO hiccup. My computer played the gig fairly flawlessly, but the device didn't. Also, the player's fast forward/rewind functions are not very good, with a large lag in response time. You should be able to press the fast forward button and fast forward the video instantly! No need to wait a second or two to turn on fast forward! It would be ideal if the device recorded from a video source in today's quality, i.e. DVD quality with a resolution of 720x480. Then you could easily burn the video to DVD. Other things I don't like are that I can't rename or delete a file using the device itself. To do this, I need to connect it to my computer. I like the 30GB disk size, but it could be closer to the size you see in most other PMPs on the market e.g. 120GB. It MUST have a larger hard drive as many people record from TV or video sources and as everyone knows anything video related takes up hard drive space! In short, I like the device, but it could have had BETTER specs with fewer downsides.
