Nice ideas

I'm a big fan of two socks at a time, socks with a sock and a former patient of SSS (Second Sock Syndrome). I really love this series of books, if only for the pattern ideas it gives. This book, like the other two in this series, has some great patterns and I love the option to combine bodies with cuffs. The instructions are clear (at least for most templates) and there are many complexities from very simple to more complex templates. Unlike many sock books, the patterns here aren't for a specific size, instead working with "x" stitches so you can scale up or down depending on the project. The book itself is rolled into a hardcover so not only does it lay flat, but it also takes advantage of the flip book. There is also an elastic band that can be used as a bookmark or to keep your chosen materials in the flip book area. It's a fairly handy book with a decent font size that's easy to read. However, I would not recommend this book as a learning aid for sock knitting (or the sock series in general) as the best are: Ann Budd's Getting Started: Sock Knitting I Started (until the development of SSS) and then moved on to Melissa Morgan Oakes, 2x socks (I have cuff-down and toe-up versions of their socks). books and refer to them often as they have great step-by-step instructions). However, I recommend this book as a reference guide for those who, like me, can't decide what to do with their next pair of socks. There is so much inspiration in this book that you can't wait to get in your car and start choosing yarn for your next project.
