Picked up this item and once assembled took it to the bedroom. Almost immediately I noticed a very strong chemical smell coming from the storage organizer. Almost to the point of a headache. Did a little research on chipboard. After some research, it turned out that chipboard contains formaldehyde. The emission of gas occurs after assembly and painting. Gas formation occurs when products made from MDF or chipboard emit into the air VOCs or VOCs from organic compounds contained in wood fibers and binder chemicals used in the manufacturing process. They can cause allergies, headaches, and even breathing problems. I had to move the storage closet to our garage where it will stay. I've bought other chipboard products that seemed normal, but they weren't.
