On par with other travel tripods

This is the first tripod I've bought in a long time. Most of my recordings these days are done with a smartphone that I hold in my hands, so I was keen to get one for my XT4. All in all, this is an amazing tripod for the price, and there's not much more that one could reasonably ask for. Pros: This thing is multifunctional. It has a gear hook, monopod and the ball head assembly is fully detachable which really helps distribute the weight of the item when hanging on the side of the bag. - Smooth operation. Sometimes the locks get in the way of picking, but I actually consider it a pro. If you put the legs in the farthest position at each stop and then try to push them further, the locks will really get in the way. This means if your foot gives way off-road, it will stop fairly easily. Pretty high when you extend the B-pillar. I'm 6ft tall and can easily raise the camera to eye level. Cons: This thing isn't lightweight. It's comparable to other aluminum tripods, but if you really want to keep the weight down, look at carbon fiber. The leg of the monopod is SLIGHTLY shorter than the rest of the legs. It's not too much of a problem if you take the time to balance the other two legs. It's also not a problem if you're shooting landscapes and wildlife and you already have uneven distribution between supports. None/Neutral - No threaded feet or screws on the bottom of the mount. This isn't an issue for me, but be aware that if you're shooting on sand or water and need legs, this can be an issue. Definitely not sure why buy this tripod for this purpose at this price.

Pros
  • Detachable monopod
Cons
  • Requires power outlet
