I only bought this to grate the mint leaves and release the oils. Cucumber is also in the same summer drink and I've read that someone has used this for pickles, but I can't imagine that all of that could be done by hand. I have no problem with a spoon/fork - in my case I'd like the part of the fork to be sharper or have narrower tines - something that would be good for piercing olives or cucumbers, but it's a bonus tool and probably will work for everything it was designed for. do (I'm clearly not a bartender). But I love the pestle for the leaves. Would like a second for camper gear.
