Safety risk with heaters

UPDATE: Unfortunately, it lasted exactly one year. If it was on and suddenly smelled a burning fire within an hour of turning it on. Luckily it didn't catch fire, but it's not safe. It's a shame, because for such a small heater, it watered really well and warmed entire rooms. None of this matters if it burns down your house. The electrician said it was good there hadn't been a spark and the only way I could tell was the smell of burning. To deactivate and replace it immediately. I see from the reviews other people really set it on fire. So no, don't buy this heater. I've had it for exactly a month and a week and so far so good. It heats the entire living room in my small apartment and also warms my bedroom (I place it so that the heater is in the middle of the living room, opposite my open bedroom door). often, and it's more expensive than, say, a fan for summer cooling. So far this has added about $20-$30 per month to my bill. The only caveat is that it took a whopping 2 1/2-3 weeks for the horrible, toxic chemical smell to finally dissipate. All along I hesitated to return it but never returned it and finally it doesn't smell like I was poisoned to death.
