I know some people are upset that it's not what it used to be and I almost bought the original off eBay but I think it's great. I particularly liked the fact that the packaging contains almost no plastic. It was all cardboard and then paper thread holding the panels together (see picture). It doesn't have grooves or a traditional record needle, but I'm okay with the way my daughter would walk around with this thing and throw it during a tantrum. It sounds exactly the same to me. My mother is babysitting my daughter and wanted something other than a phone or TV to play music on. It's great and so is the price.
