So I got a fairly expensive set of headphones that I was going to use for gaming and I heard and saw the Antlion ModMic advert. until I recorded a little bit from the mic to see how it sounds. Like absolute trash. Note that this was due to the microphone on the specific sound card. Nothing is built in here, and yet it sounded terrible. Buzz, buzz, hiss and hiss abound. I was so angry! So I watched some videos and read some forum posts about how a USB sound adapter might solve the problem. I went with another brand which I will not mention, tried it. It still sounded like shit, worse. I then bought an adapter sold by Antlion themselves to fix issues with their mic. and although it sounded better. I just knew something was wrong. In a last ditch effort to fix that annoying headache. I chose this Syby adapter and it really fits perfectly. Checked, outputs 5v. The problem is solved. Obviously, not all cheap USB audio adapters are created equal. who knew.
