The Power Probe III is a fantastic automotive test tool. Basically, it comes down to speed and comfort. You can often do without that, but the multitasking capabilities and all-in-one convenience are hard to beat. Don't blow fuses, put away your simple test lamp, forget burning DMMs on resistance scales, quickly determine polarity, don't fiddle with two DMM probes, power up circuits or ground the probe tip, read drain the voltage, use it right near the vehicle and away from the battery or dashboard, and it even helps with speaker wires. A very intuitive tool. It's overload protected, the probe tip is well sized and long, the indication is visual and audible, and the tool comes with two handy (and efficient) LED work lights. Regular spare parts are also sold separately :-) The cables are not strained, the car battery connections are solid, and the cigarette lighter plug is included, saving time. The tool is complete and ready to use, requires no internal batteries and even comes in a decent hard case for storage. The Power Probe IV version is also available now, yes it's a better device but also more complex and significantly more expensive. to buy. I'm not throwing away the more expensive device at all, but... in my opinion this version III is still worth buying, much lower price, improved design, which is great for the vast majority of wire testing tasks, easier to use and less expensive . a responsibility. A quality DMM can be the best investment to help with pulse widths, min/max readings, current measurements, and high-resolution voltage readings. A product that you can simply recommend!
