Kickin' Your Practice

How to wear two pairs of FitKicks:1. as light shoes on the plane (change travel shoes)2. as safety shoes in hotel rooms3. like slippers at home4. A grippy, supportive yoga/pilates shoe, the FitKicks are a great choice for indoor shoes. I don't think they are suitable for outdoor use. The manufacturer exaggerates its durability - "wear it everywhere: ... walking, commuting, running errands, water sports ...". - under the product description, but I can't recommend them for this level of activity. Wear FitKicks for casual, high-impact indoor use like yoga/pilates. They grip the mat for vigorous moves like ski jumping, yet are flexible enough for heel/calf climbs, planks, and toe tapping exercises. The toe guard helps distribute the weight of the pose from the big toe to the upper surface of the shoe. This is a huge relief for foot bursitis sufferers like me. In addition to the two-tone toe protection, the shoe's upper has diagonal piping that matches the big toe on each foot (see image). The design makes it easy to adjust the position of the legs in chair pose or tadasana. The internal seams of the toe guard can chafe and I recommend wrapping the patch around your thumb for protection, especially during long workouts. FitKicks are light, soft, flexible and comfortable indoor shoes. While I'm deducting a point for overemphasizing outdoor use, the $20 price tag and underperforming features earn FitKicks a four-star product rating.
