Lid - This product was by far the best of the many I've tested for functionality and value. It doesn't get 5 stars though because while it's decent for the price, it's not that durable --- don't expect to be able to feel secure picking it up by the small handle on top as it's definitely not for that designed or manufactured strong enough for the user to pack a box of files into a pile of heavy folders. / Paper and still take it by the pen. The pave stability is decent, but not great; The top and bottom seat isn't as secure as some other stackable Sterilite containers I have at home. The lid also doesn't close as securely as on older Sterilite products (see below). Unfortunately the trend towards thinner materials seems to be the route Sterilite is taking with most of its home storage products - I bought a bunch of 70 liter storage bins (?) a few years ago - great for Christmas decorations etc and when I used to as I recently After buying a few new ones I saw that Sterilite had replaced the previous white plastic cap with a thinner clear plastic cap and lid. The lock wasn't that good (but the price hasn't come down!). So overall, despite the trend towards cheaper build quality, as long as you don't expect extreme durability, you'll likely be happy with this little binder -- it's very suitable for hanging letter binders (like the Pendaflex) and its unassuming design. This is probably the best deal on the market for a covered hanging file at the moment; Recommended with a few caveats regarding the thin lid/handle.
