This is a well designed product. The hardware is slim, compact and easy to install. I tested the accuracy of amps and watts in the Vue2 iPhone app using a Fluke meter and a Kill-a-Watt meter for electronics, electrical equipment and instruments, and high-power electric motors. like my heat pump. I also checked the current draw from my solar panel. In all cases, Vue2's results were close enough for my needs (and I suspect for most homes that need to track dollar/electricity consumption). While the software doesn't compensate for voltage variations (my range is 118-120), again these differences are negligible for almost all practical purposes. The report update rate is once per second, which is fast enough to catch starting spikes on my heavily loaded induction motors. My main reason for purchasing this unit was to determine the wattage of all my main and ancillary circuits. to properly quantify the purchase of a backup generator and determine which of my high power devices I could use at the same time while being powered by the generator. This unit was perfect for that. Emporia's support team is also excellent. Easily accessible, extremely tech-savvy and committed to the premise of quality customer service. A couple of times I needed a couple more separate 50 amp sensors as my fuse box evolved and they could be obtained with a simple phone call. They happily answered all of my detailed questions both before and after my purchase. Finally, Emporia does the software development for their mobile app in Colorado, which means they can quickly incorporate customer requests and suggestions for improving the app. For example, I asked them to add to the app the ability to combine two sensors (from each wire of a double pole switch) into a named circuit so I don't have to do the calculations for all two myself... wire breakers in my panel. I was told that an improvement is already being worked on and that a software update will be released in about four weeks. In my opinion, this is excellent material. At a competitive and very fair price for what you are getting this is a five star product in every respect.
