I am a Natural Redhead but since I was a teenager, I've preferred my hair a shade or 2 darker than my natural hair color. So, I started dying it. For years, I used the color Ruby Fusion by Loreal, but as I became older (will be 40 in a couple months), I noticed this color is a bit too dark now, looking a tad harsh. So this was the painful start of my search for my new perfect shade of Red. I've tried about 4 different shades from different brands but every time I was disappointed which was hard b/c I had to go at least 2 months with a hair color I wasn't happy with. I accidentally stumbled across this foam dye which is what originally caught my interest. It was the first time I've seen a foam permanent dye. The second thing to grab my attention was that it is A John Frieda product and I love and trust this brand's products. I use many of their hair styling products and treatments for fine, thin hair. So, I perused the colors and decided to try the Radiant Red. 1st let me talk about the dye itself. I read the directions carefully (I highly suggest you do the same if this is new to you). They were simple to follow, the biggest adjustment was dispensing the dye into my hand versus directly to my scalp but the foam application was effective, a bit quicker than the traditional dyes, and I was able to compeletely saturate my hair in half the normal time. Do be sure to immediately wipe away any dye you may have gotten on the skin around your hairline b/c it will slightly stain. And I can't forget to mention how this method was mess free. No dripping or errant steaks of due found afterwards on the Bathroom floor or sink. I left it on for 25 min then entered the shower where I thoroughly rinsed and applied the conditioner that is included in the box (I was impressed by the size of the bottle compared to the tiny ones in most brands) it is suggested you continue to use this conditioner once a week after dying. So, nothing left to do now but to reveal the final results. I was a bit impatient so after towel drying, I used the blow dryer and what I saw was almost to good to be true. It was literally the result I've been trying to achieve. I was a little nervous though b/c in my experience, the color tends to lighten with the first couple washes. Well, I've washed my hair 3 times since and the color is just as deep and vibrant as it was the night I did it. I am absolutely in love and I pray that this she and particular color remain available for A LONG time b/c after finding my perfect match the last thing I want to do is go through an the hassle and disappointment I did before now. Also, after falling in love with the John Frieda Clear Glazing Treatment, I also purchased the glaze in the color Red in hopes it will extend the time between coloring my hair by keeping the red in my hair vibrant and refreshed along with the other benefits from the glaze. I have high hopes for it judging from my experiencing with this line of products thus far. So in short. This is now my go to hair dye without question and would recommend it to anyone if they find it in a color suitable for them.
