This was one of the few gate options that was this wide so I appreciate it. It's attractive and seems pretty safe. I once hung a pant leg over the base's small hem and the whole thing collapsed, but otherwise it accommodated both my 80-pound dog and two small children (separated, of course). I figured that I would like the door to either be able to be pushed to its maximum open position so it would stay open, or it would close automatically. However, the swing is quite stiff and makes loud noises and I can well imagine my little one blocking a crawling baby with it... My biggest criticism of this gate is the door handle. While this is a "one-handed" version, you have to lift the door very hard, almost jarring the door out of the slot below. Much trickier than other goals we own. The man said the installation was pretty easy.
