Direct fit for our 2004 Pontiac Vibe. Most likely they will also fit the same generation Toyota Matrix as they are cousins. Our old fan just stopped working, not just at a few speeds (which would be bad fan resistance). That fixed everything. Installation is easy, and the device itself is located behind the glove box. You will need to remove the glove box (pops out), the ECU mounting bracket (two large screws) and then the three 5.5mm screws holding the fan in the case and an electrical connection. Be sure to turn on the ignition and make sure the fan is working before screwing it back in.
