Buyer Warning! Not for the North American market?

What should have been a quick installation turned out to be very time consuming and tedious. Here is a list of the issues I encountered installing this product. A 1/2" mounting hole is required for the included faucet. I know of NO sinks with a half inch pre-drilled hole. Why this isn't designed for the standard 1-3/8" opening found in every sink at any hardware store is beyond me. I installed the faucet in a standard sink hole (instead of the soap dispenser), but it can "float" horizontally in that hole. I'm not sure how long this mount will last me. The threads on the faucet didn't match anything that was stocked at the local Ace hardware store. We assume the thread is some kind of metric standard. The fittings that come with it are ridiculously large for a sink supply line and won't fit the plumbing under my sink. The adapters included in the user manual were not included in my package. The hose between the filter and the faucet was assembled as intended; there are no problems. But the tubing between the water inlet and the filter inlet will not fit a standard quarter inch tee. (A tee I had to buy because it wasn't in the box.) The outside diameter of the pipe is a quarter inch, but the pipe is thicker than the standard pipe. Once the copper insert is inserted into the tube, the outside diameter of the tube is large enough to prevent a standard quarter inch swivel nut from slipping over the end of the tube. So, another trip to the hardware store after purchasing standard quarter inch pipe, I was able to hook up the utility line. However, I'm paranoid that the new hose might be slightly different from the hose that came with it and just waiting to pop out of the friction fit on the filter housing and flood my kitchen. I suspect this product is intended for a different market than North America hence the fittings simply not suitable for installation in the United States. There are many, many reviews on this product claiming that none of the fittings that came with it fit. (The parts bag that came with it is printed in Cyrillic, which also leads me to believe this product wasn't made for North America.) However, I finally managed to install it and it seems to be working. . May be. The water flows at a much higher rate than the 1L/min stated in the instructions, which makes me wonder if 1 or 2 canisters aren't filtering properly. I don't know how to check this. After installing and flushing the system for 10 minutes, it was found that the chlorine taste in our tap water had decreased. It will take more time to assess whether we are satisfied with the product, but this product does not deserve more than 2 stars based on the installation alone. Before buying, you need to understand that you are expecting an additional $20. or so in fittings (you'll need a tee, ball valve, and quarter inch hose) to make it work, and maybe 3-4 frustrated trips to the hardware store. And even then, you'll never be 100% sure it's plugged in properly and you're not one step away from accidentally flooding the kitchen. With that in mind, I'd advise other buyers to look for products that might be a bit more expensive but will work for standard US hardware.
