For $500, I purchased a 16 GB white flash drive. I like. The white and blue version, but not the black, has a bright light bulb that illuminates the base of the casing. First, it's quite luminous, and second, the plastic is see-through (to about two-thirds and one-third of the flash drive's length, respectively). My laptop's USB port is on the rear, so the light doesn't get in the way, but I do worry that it stands out too much. There are no issues in either USB 2.0 or USB 3.0. I'm also not too bothered by the fact that the switch controlling the connector's output is very feeble.
