Review on Dorman 673 439 Integrated Catalytic Converter by Deejay Devarashetty

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It does what it's supposed to do

Pros:1. Price. I am unfortunate enough to own a 2000 Honda Civic that was developed to California emissions standards that require a more expensive catalytic converter. As a "straight fit," it's pretty much accurate. Note that heat will cause the brackets to warp over time, so the bottom mounting bracket may need some alignment and bending.3. Apparently the manufacturer gives a guarantee on the kit.4. Although the assembly is bolted together, it seems to be holding the exhaust well enough.5. This converter matches My CEL for code P0420 tripped and stayed off and I was missing emissions. Cons: Main controversial points: 1. It comes with wrong instructions. The instructions include tightening torques for the bolting between the distributor and the torque converter, as well as bolt size and pitch. If you know what you're doing, you don't need instructions.2. Not all devices are included. spare pads included; However, replacement flange bolts, flange nuts or distributor bolts are not included in the scope of delivery. There is a good chance that the flange bolts on the top tube and the flange nuts on the header bolts will be destroyed when removed (I had them).3. The guide doesn't warn about smoking, which is seemingly harmless but annoying when you're not expecting it. Apparently, the converter is covered with a protective film that burns out after installation and burns out completely after a few days.

Pros
  • It's amazing
Cons
  • No performance
