Worthy aftermarket alternative, BUT

The flange bolt holes on the outlet side of the boiler did not match the stock flanges that fit, had to be enlarged with a file to allow the bolts to go through. In addition, they put the collector's metal seal in a thin cardboard box, which was in the same box as the collector and the cat, which could move freely in the box, so it was inevitably slightly deformed during transportation, like other reviewers. pictures posted. Aside from these two issues, everything worked fine, no codes. I…

Fits, sensors fit

Originally purchased in 2016. It fits, the sensors fit and everything was smooth when new, it just suffers from the same problem as the stock header. . It has been less than 2 years and the manifold cracked after about 40-60k miles. It's cast iron, so I expected it to crack, but assumed it would last at least 100,000 miles. If you need a more permanent solution, I suggest upgrading your entire exhaust system to stainless steel and moving the catalytic converter under the car. I live in…

So far so good.: Replacement parts

I ordered this bad boy on Wednesday and received it next Monday (4 days earlier than the control estimate). Replaced it myself, took four hours. The old ex-husband and the cat are soldered together, so getting them out will be fun (excruciatingly painful). Part of the exhaust pipe has to be removed to get the old duo out. I would suggest putting everything together first and then installing - it's a lot easier as you don't have to make a lot of wrenches if you install the coil and then the…

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • So so

Bought for my 97 Civic hatchback, the catalytic converter is in two parts. The screws and holes are terrible. To connect the manifold and the downstream catalytic converter together, there are 4 screws in the middle, the screws are bad, so screw them in slowly and align them perfectly, otherwise the screws will surely break. 02 gauges, gaskets all fit perfectly so no problem. The alignment and fit on my civilian car was like stock, less than 20 minutes to fit the catalytic converter. I bonded…

It does what it's supposed to do

Pros:1. Price. I am unfortunate enough to own a 2000 Honda Civic that was developed to California emissions standards that require a more expensive catalytic converter. As a "straight fit," it's pretty much accurate. Note that heat will cause the brackets to warp over time, so the bottom mounting bracket may need some alignment and bending.3. Apparently the manufacturer gives a guarantee on the kit.4. Although the assembly is bolted together, it seems to be holding the exhaust well enough.5…

Really good replacement block, poor instructions.

When our 1999 Honda Civic LX had a stock exhaust manifold/catalytic converter failure (typical failure, Y-exhaust split), I went in search of a replacement. I saved up first and ordered an ATP header because I figured it would work no matter how long we decided to leave the car as the original lasted 14 years. Boy was I wrong! After about 3 years, the ATP manifold failed just like the factory block, split into a "Y". Luckily the ATP unit had a 5 year warranty so I decided to replace it. My…

The best deal I could find, a little fog after installation is normal

Purchased March 3, delivered March 6, so shipped very quickly. I am installing it on a 1999 Honda Civic LX. It took my son (who is incompetent on mechanics) about three hours from start to finish to undress and dress the old cat. Essentially, it's a matter of removing the old one and attaching the new one. The hardest part for us was that after installation smoke came out of the cat so I figured there was a leak somewhere and kept tightening the bolts until they were too tight. Only to find out

but Dorman was great at problem solving

In short I had some trouble finding the right one but Dorman was great at problem solving. Easy to install and so far so good. I didn't need a smog test so I can't comment on its smog ability yet. I didn't need it ASAP or anything, so all the delays didn't bother me much. If you encounter hours of smog, you could be in trouble. Bought it for theft, lowest price listed on the camel. But even at the highest price, it's still cheaper than OEM, which will break within a few years. I'll definitely…

A must have if you live in California

If you live in California like me you know that having a CARB stamped catalytic converter/manifold is now mandatory. Internally, the CARB-approved exhaust is no different than the generic 49-state exhaust. The difference is that the manufacturer is "permitted" to stamp the distributor stating that it is California approved. This means that the manufacturer had to pay a large amount for testing and validating the collector design. The higher price we pay is the permit fee passed on to us. Gone…
