Review on πŸŽ’ Osprey Escapist 25 Daypack: Ultimate Gear for All-Day Adventures by Eric Power

Hard landing for little ladies; otherwise great

I really wanted to love this bag. I'm an Osprey fan and this bag certainly doesn't disappoint in the details - it's well made and has lots of fun details. However, this is a unisex bag and shows that, to me, there is a good reason why the women's sizes from Osprey work so well. The Escapist 25's S/M size didn't fit my 5'4" well no matter how I adjusted it. The waist straps were snug enough, but they had weird fabric loops, and the shoulder straps wouldn't tighten. Short enough (I have a short torso) that it was uncomfortable and also resulted in the foot hanging out of the fabric.with a slightly uncomfortable but functional inner zip. It's really only big enough for a raincoat or maybe an ultralight sleeping bag. However, I really wanted this case to work as badly as it fits perfectly in a camera bag - I was hoping I could stuff my stuff in the bottom compartment and use the top one for my camera.. Also great for fixed or standard zoom -Lens: P. Opened The case was also more than enough for my 14" laptop. I'll take the Sirrus 24 instead. It offers less storage space due to its more rigid construction, fewer compartments and is used for my camera bulkier but fits like an absolute dream. It's also pretty cute and comes in funnier colors than the Escapist, my consolation prize.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Some bugs
