It definitely works! I added this to a portable RV water softener that I installed in my shower. I'm new to water softening and I suspected that my new water softener might not have been updated and might not have had enough resin when it arrived (not sure how to know how much of it should be in the tank) . . So I added that and the soft water is amazing! Huge difference in my hair and skin and I didn't even add that whole bag. Will order again if needed
