The automatic cleaning or self-cleaning function is not controlled by the cold shot button at all. You need to turn off the hair dryer while it is still plugged in, and then press and hold the fan speed button for about 7 seconds, and the hair dryer will blow out air to clean (reverse airflow direction). Noise: It is quieter than some hair dryers. but produces a much higher pitched tone and is measured at 88dB from 3ft down and 92dB from 3ft up. Heat and Dry: Temperature control is good and it can get quite hot and you can use it without heat by simply not turning on the heat settings. It's really just a budget Gama IQ hair dryer, but I would at least expect the "customer service" team to know how to properly operate their product.
