As this is a refurbished item it is very difficult to tell if it has ever been used. The package included instructions, parts, cables and of course a mouse. No scratches, no dirt in the scroll wheel in the ball area and everything works. It was just plug and play for my Windows 10 laptop. The addition of Wedge Plus made the Ergo a perfect fit for my hand position. I drafted for 3 hours straight this morning and didn't even have to warm up once. The ball appears to be identical to the latest version in terms of tracking and garbage collection. The only downside is that I can't pop the ball with just my pinky like I used to. Now I need to find the bic handle to pull it out from the bottom. The buttons are good tactile and clicky. The scroll wheel has been greatly improved, with fewer clicks when scrolling through a document, although the padding is thinner and less annoying. Switching from bluetooth to mini receiver is seamless. Ideal for docking when I want to combine my mouse and keyboard and then take my mouse and laptop with me to go to a meeting without worrying about something sticking out of my laptop. The only gripe is the lack of storage space for the receiver on the mouse itself. Luckily with Bluetooth functionality I still won't be undocking the receiver. The texture on the mouse provides a secure grip I didn't know I needed. Now with the mouse at an angle, with no grip, my hand would likely slip off all the time. I will update when the battery is less than stellar. If it gets anywhere near 3 months I'll be very happy with it. Give it a try, although I'd suggest getting it for less than $70 as it's nowhere near a $99 mouse.
