I haven't used a bread bin/bin for most of my life. As I got older, I started eating less bread every day. I love sandwiches for breakfast with scrambled eggs and a little sausage every now and then. I'm not a big fan of English muffins, so I ended up with bread loafs. Since I don't eat bread every day, I need a container to keep the bread fresh. I mostly use the "whole grain" variety, which I prefer. I like some of the "wider" loaves available at many bakeries, but they don't fit as well in the RubberMaid container I chose to use. No problem, because there are some good examples of whole wheat with just the right amount of fiber in "standard-size bread"—meaning fewer calories per slice. I've been using the RubberMaid Bread Bin for a few months now. I live in a drier climate and have not had any problems with the device so far. In fact, I was very impressed with how long the bread stays fresh in this container. So I'm really loving this product at the moment because it keeps my bread fresh so well.
