First of all I would like to say that the voice activation works too well. For my purposes, I needed to capture all sounds, not just voices. Testing with voice activation only records voices and if you make other noises they will not be recorded. It's great if that's what you're looking for. As mentioned in some comments, he tends to cut off parts of the vocals when he starts recording again. I can see where this might be a problem for some wanting to record speeches etc. For my purposes, I disabled voice activation. I wanted to record for a few days. When I charged the device (takes about 6 hours to charge) the red light never went out as instructed so I was concerned that it wasn't fully charged although I left it charged overnight. Still it seemed to be recording for 4 days when I left it to record and seemed to have some battery left. In that time he recorded 99 hours. What they don't tell you is that the recordings will be split into 1 hour segments. It was great because I was concerned I would end up with a large unmanaged audio file. Every 1 hour file has a timestamp of course. However, there was something strange with the timestamp. I installed and tested. It was correct, but in 99 hours the timestamps will differ from real time by 1-5 hours. I checked again when I connected to my computer and the first file showed the correct time. I was glad the device picked up and didn't lose its charge, but I have to say that the sound quality isn't very good. Loud hissing can be heard on all recordings. I had to do aggressive noise reduction on every file. If you're recording normal room voices or noise, everything should be fine, although there will be some hiss. When you record sounds that are barely audible, you lose most of them in the noise. Basically I am satisfied with the device. It's very easy to use, but there are many ways to improve sound quality. Also a word of caution. Luckily I copied all my files to the PC first but what happened was I did another test write to see if the device is full or not. When I plugged it back into my computer, there were only 75 files left. When I wrote that extra file, for some reason about 23 other files that were there were deleted. I don't know if it was a one time error or some kind of bug. Just make sure you save all your recordings somewhere else first before you start recording anything else.
