I am very happy with this desk mat. I purchased it to use as a base for my computer on my new wood desk. I wanted to protect the desk from the heat of the laptop. I bought this size so that there would be room for my mouse in lieu of buying a separate mouse pad. This has worked out perfectly. There is plenty of room for my 17" laptop and wireless mouse on this pad. I like that it is not too thick, it lies nicely on the desk. The mouse reacts well to the surface, no loss of response. The desk mat does not slide around, it is very stable. It does show fingerprints, which is kind of weird, but otherwise I am completely satisfied.
