When I first looked at the photos I was concerned that it might not have a case, but it does have a clear case with a secure zip closure. It would be better if the bottom layer was solid and not just a fabric, or if the dividers stay up by themselves as they come completely flat out of the box. After having the shoes in each of the 4 corners things got a little better but some of my high heels needed to be tucked in 1 compartment. Technically I still have 12 pairs in my bag as a couple of compartments hold 2 pairs (slippers and sandals which don't take up much space). It is designed to slide on the floor and is not necessarily easy to lift and carry. So I would recommend stocking it up in the room you plan to keep it (which I didn't do). These are all minor complaints, however, and I'm sure I could get better quality for double the price. As I didn't want to spend a lot and needed less than 7 inches to fit under my bed. it is perfect and worth the price.
