Good for health monitoring but skip this and see your vet immediately if there is behavioral or physical signs of a problem

different but here is my experience. I noticed my cat running out of the litter box shaking his head after being number 1. Knowing that behavior changes could be a sign of a problem, I decided to order this product and see if everything was ok. I've been trying for 3 days to "get" it into the shell with the filler that came with it, but to no avail. When I removed the rest of the trays, hoping he was left with only one option, he found another option. Corner in the hallway next to the crate. After clearing up the mess I was determined to get this sample and kept a close eye on it. In fact, he finally found his way to the box, sniffed around a bit, and decided the corner was a better spot. As he was walking, I managed to slip a plastic bowl. The bottom is still a mess, but at least I have this sample. What followed was the actual use of the product. Following the instructions, I dipped the paper, placed it next to the attached chart, and started the timer. After 30 seconds, compare the first three (glucose, protein, and pH). The result was negative for glucose and pH, but somewhere between normal and first "positive" for protein. After 60 seconds the last test (blood) was negative. Not wanting to risk it, I made an appointment with his vet. The next available appointment was scheduled for 3 days and since there are 2 test strips in the kit I tried again while collecting a sample for a visit to the vet. This time the protein was clearly positive (between the first and second positive columns) and the pH was positive. The vet performed a full physical, including blood, stool, and urine tests. Called back and said everything was fine. I think this test is very error prone as it is cautious. I have cleaned the floor but there may still be debris causing the false alarm. I would say it would be good for a regular health check but if there are any real physical signs of a problem skip it and go straight to the vet.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
