Review on πŸ”† Transform Your Space with Gila 50167279 Heat Control 3-in-1 Window Film: Transparent, 3ft x 15ft by Amber Perez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not bad but don't believe the description, here is an honest review.

I bought it with the Gila kit (do not try without the kit by the way). I mounted it on a south-facing arched window (living in southern Virginia can get very hot) and here's what happened: It's true that it greatly reduces the heat of the sunlight, making the ground much cooler. what it was before. BUT, I know a bit of physics from college and this filter does NOT actually reflect UV or IR! that's a lie! I think it absorbs it instead, and as a result the windows are getting very hot even now, to the point where I'm wondering if this will damage the seals over time. It gets so hot that if you're 1 or 2 feet from the windows you'll feel warm like you're standing by a radiant heater. If it really did reflect UV and IR from the sun, this wouldn't happen. About"somehow". Description is not good! Of course, the sea is still in the windows, but it seems that now when the sun falls on it, there is some kind of fog on it. It's a bit annoying. The hue is also quite strong, so it can be a bit overwhelming on a cloudy day. It's quite cool at night though, although it reduces the light transmitted it brings out the contrast greatly and it seems like you can see better. Too bad people don't live at night! SUMMARY I have compared this review to windows that have a standard UV filter built in (ex works), the result is really bad compared to this window but of course if you don't want to replace all your windows and pay for it a fortune, it's something you can consider. ASSEMBLY: a little easy on small windows, a little tricky on a bay window (requires 2 people).
