I don't know what others will use them for but they are great for storing roasted coffee beans. Unlike some other bags, they are flexible enough to push ALL the air out through the valve and keep it inside. Two weeks later the tops are still bent so I left them that way. At least this batch was airtight. They are made of kraft paper so they are writable and won't smear.
