Review on Waffle Maker Competitor by Jessica Russell

I don't quite understand the negative reviews here - maybe I was just lucky and got a good one? I bought it on Black Friday last year. I paid $3.50 for it and it's the best $3.50 I've ever spent lol! I think performance can be affected by the type of waffle batter used. I usually use a recipe that requires separating the eggs, whipping the egg whites and folding. I get perfect waffles every time I use this recipe. I used a different recipe once and had flexible waffles, but I don't think the waffle iron is to blame. Just use my oven timer set for 3 minutes. Be sure to close it between waffles and let them warm up if you want them to brown. 1/4 C batter on each side made me perfect waffles for 9 months! The only downside is that it only makes 2 waffles and takes 3 minutes to prep with a good 1 minute of preheating in between. When preparing breakfast for a large family, sit at the counter for a while. Other than that I really love this little gadget.
