Review on Acrylic Liquid Storage Container with 3 Room Divisions, Pump Reservoir - Aquarium Choice by Jennifer Miller

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works after modifications

Good: Sturdy construction, hoses supplied (3) are of good quality and fit well (little odour, but dissipate quickly), compact size for 1500ml (50+ oz) ) suitable for use in any section, graduation engraved on acrylic. Bad: RAISE AIR from unsealed stem to fitting (see modifications), stem a bit short (fill in above line to get full usable volume). I got this for dosing aquarium additives to use with a Jebao DP-4 dosing pump. After unpacking this pump and pumping and hooking it up, I noticed that liquid was sucking up the shaft but very little was flowing through the pump. didn't stick to the nipple ports so air was drawn into the line so the pump didn't stay primed (even when I primed the lines first). CHANGES: To fix the above I unscrewed the nipple's ftgs with a 14mm wrench. found that the stems came out of the FTG's nipple easily and decided to glue them together. I didn't have acrylic glue or PVC pipe glue, so I used some coral glue (cyanoacrylate) on the end of the rod and put it in the FTG nipple. I also put a dab of glue around the joint and wiped off the excess with a swab. Testing after the glue had set went well: the liquid rose up the stick much faster, and the stick did not drain after the pump was turned off (the lines remained primed). ). I still find the stem to be too short but I can still get the full 1500ml useable volume since the container has the extra height. I could add an extension, but a small amount of the additives might fall out of solution, so it's best to leave some space.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
