Good quality dress/stretchy fabric. I bought this for my daughters 2nd birthday party because we had a mermaid/pirate theme. She is just now starting to wear 2T and is very average sized. The smallest they had in this dress was a 3T so I bought the 3T. It fit perfectly everywhere except length. I turned it inside out, rolled up the middle under where the ruffle is and put about eight stitches of thread to hem it. This made it about 4 inches shorter so she wouldn’t step on the bottom. The ruffle hit where I hemmed it perfectly. Now she can use it as dress up clothes for quite a while because when she gets taller I will just cut the stitches out so the dress is longer.My daughter loves this dress and loves to run and look at the way the bottom flares out. It’s so cute! Very pleased!UPDATE - same dress, 1.75 years later and still being used! My daughter wore it at her 2nd bday party and then again for Halloween when she was 3.5. I just cut the stitches out as she got taller which was soooo easy! 1st pic is age 2, pic from the back is age 3 yr 8 months.
