Review on 🦈 Shark HZ2002 PowerFins Ultralight Self Cleaning by Joe Fulce

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Light, loud, bouncing Suitable for vacuum cleaners

We have been very pleased with the older owners of the Shark Rocket Duo. After it was stolen, we chose this VERTEX model over the lifting APEX, primarily because of the latter's weight and because we have many hardwood floors for which VERTEX ribs seem to be better than APEX brushes. However, this model has some unexpected "features" that make us ready to return it. (I'll update this review in a few weeks and the rating might drop to 3/5 stars.) Big Pros • We like the weight which makes it easy to use on steps and for general use. • Head width may seem a bit narrow at first, but perfect for stairs. This will significantly speed up the cleaning of the stairs. • Powerful headlight makes it easy to see the dirt. • Working on parquet is fun. Installs easily and walks straight on carpet and hard floors • Trash can and filter are easy to clean, maybe even easier than older models • Noticeably better suction power. Major Disadvantages • Shortly after use, the device began to emit a high-pitched squeak. Now this is also present when removing the trash can. It's really loud and the sound pressure in my wife's ear is 76-78 dB. (The maximum EPA to prevent hearing damage is 70 dB, which is about 8 times louder than this limit.) Others have written about this issue. The head tends to jump and is difficult to keep in a straight line. It takes a little getting used to, but can usually be controlled with attention in the long run. This jump can be avoided by simply leaving the Wood Floor setting. • The flexible hose nozzle has a fixed crevice nozzle with a tiny brush. It cannot be used with other instruments. Our old Shark tube does not fit the new VERTEX. We have Kenmore tubing that fits and can be used. • The buttons to switch from carpet to hard floor are difficult to use even after repeated use. Update We are returning after 2 months of use. We bought Apex LiftAway. It's noticeably heavier, but otherwise better in every way. Bottom line: if light, strong suction is your main concern and you don't mind high notes, this is perfect for you. Otherwise choose another one.

Pros
  • DUOCLEAN POWERFINS: PowerFins brush roller and soft roller fit on all floors. Continuous cleaning contact for deep penetration into carpets, direct contact with the floor and picking up more dirt, debris and hair with each pass (compared to the original DuoClean).
Cons
  • Slightly torn
